Sweden-based Super Falcons’ defender, Gloria Ogbonna, says she has been receiving offers from top European clubs, in spite of having over a year in her contract with Swedish club, Umea Ik.
Although the former captain of the Edo Queens did not name the top European clubs after her signature, she promised to see out her contract with Umea Ik, and help the club to grow.
“I have had offers coming around but I have told them to hold on and that I want to focus on this team for now”, Ogbonna she told the Newsmen, adding that she joined Umea Ik to help the club gain promotion to the elite division of the Swedish women football league.

“I feel good and so much excited to say that I have been able to achieve that feat with Umea Ik. It was one of the main reasons I decided to join this great family.
“I had no doubt in my mind that I was going to add to the team’s success and also to help them qualify to play in the Swedish top flight. I am very happy that today my wish has been accomplished. “We have qualified and looking forward to playing in the top flight league next season,”
Speaking on her experience so far in the Scandinavian country, Ogbonna said that playing there had improved her standard as a player. “I am a better player now, I have gotten another level of experience,” she stated.
