Gov Ortom says no to Fulani herdsman

In response to a statement by the Miyetti Allah Kauta Hore organisation that vigilante groups would be established in every state to fight insecurity, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has advised Fulani herdsmen to stay away from the state.
He made this statement on Thursday, through Terver Akase, his Chief Press Secretary, and warned that he would take advantage of the rule of law to jail any Fulani herdsman who intend coming to Benue to form a vigilante group.
Gov Ortom is sure that any herdsman coming into the state has ulterior motives and does not have the good of the state at heart. He insists that the community policing is enough to combat insecurity in the state.
This did not go well with the Miyetti Allah Kauta Hore organisation, and they have asked Gov Ortom to withdraw his statement or he would be sued to court.
