The Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has said he remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), despite working with President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking during an interview with Seun Okinbaloye of Channels Television, Wike said he supported Tinubu and owes no one an apology for it.
On his minsiterial role in the administration of Tinubu, he said “Governance is not about party, party is a vehicle that conveys you. I am a PDP member, unrepentant.”
“I feel at home working with President Tinubu, whether he is an APC member or not. He means well for the people and wants everyone to work together for the betterment of the country.
He said Tinubu has given him courage and needed people to help build the country because he means well for the nation.
“I am not here to work for a party. I am here to work for Tinubu, who has confidence in me to bring renewed hope to Nigerians. I owe nobody any apology for supporting Tinubu.
“Let me remind us that in the whole of the South South and South East, Tinubu won in only one state, which is Rivers. I have no regrets because I stood on my grounds that the presidency must come to the South,” Wike said.
