Green Eagles legend, Henry Nwosu dies after battle with Illness

 

Nigeria football legend, Henry Nwosu has died after a five-day battle with illness at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH on Saturday morning.

Nwosu who once had a close shave with death a few years back, was admitted to the intensive care unit of the LASUTH on Wednesday.

Segun Odegbami a former captain of the Green Eagles who won the 1980 Nations Cup broke the news of Henry Nwosu’s demise.

According to him, “Henry Nwosu passes on!” he exclaimed through a WhatsApp chat. He would further reveal the situation around his condition as he explained that,

“After five days in hospital battling for his life, the one I call ‘Youngest Millionaire’ passed on at 4:00 am this morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos where he had been in Intensive Care since Wednesday.

It is with deep pain in my heart that I have to be the conveyor of the news of the death of Henry Nwosu MON.
May he rest peacefully with our Creator in Heaven.”

Nwosu, born in June 14, 1963 scored four time in 31 appearances for the national team.
