GTB allegedly locked VeryDarkMan in exit door to aid EFCC arrest

Deji Adeyanju, human rights activist and lawyer to popular social media activist, Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkman has alleged that the branch of the Guaranty Trust Bank where his client was arrested connived with operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to delay him (VeryDarkMan) in its exit door.

According to Adeyanju, the bank locked VeryDarkMan in the door for over 5mins to enable EFCC to effect the arrest.

The lawyer also revealed, in a Facebook post that the social media activist refused to come out of the anti-graft agency cell or receive a visitor.

An unnamed friend of VeryDarkMan was also arrested by the agency, according to Adeyanju.

“VDM DETAINED AT EFCC:
Our lawyers led by the Head of our firm @Marvin_Omorogbe just met VDM’s friend who was arrested together with him in EFCC custody. VDM refused to come out of the cell; that he won’t see anyone.

“VDM was locked inside the GTB exit door for over 5mins to enable EFCC arrest him and his friend. We will be taking legal actions against GTB for the inhumane treatment meted out to our client,” Adeyanju wrote.
