
Deputy Governor of Kano State, Nasiru Gawuna has been declared the flag bearer of the All Progress Congress (APC) for the General Election in the state.
The deputy governor polled 2,289 votes defeating, his opponent Sha’aban Sharada who had just 30 votes.
The APC Election Committee chairman, Alhaji Tijjani Kaura, declared Gawuna the winner after the election exercise held on Thursday night at the Indoor Sports Complex, Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

Kaura disclosed that 2,339 votes were cast in total while 2,319 votes were valid.
He said “I Sen.Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, Chairman of Kano APC Governorship Primary Election Committee on behalf of the National working committee of our party hereby announced that results for this election have been collated and counted accordingly. I hereby certified that Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna having scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner.”

“He is, therefore, the standard flag bearer of the APC in the Gubernatorial election that will take place in 2023 in Kano State he said”
He, however, commended security personnel, journalists, contestants, and party executives for the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
