Four students of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja who are indigenes of Ajowa Akoko in Ondo state traveling home for Christmas break along with their commercial driver simply called Momodu were the latest victims of kidnapping along Akunnu-Ajowa road on Saturday.
The source said Momodu have been earlier warned not to take that route which is noted for kidnapping and armed robbery but he insisted.

Travellers always take Akunnu Ikaram-Gedegede road to Ajowa for the fear of the miscreants.
According to a resident of Ajowa Akoko and a former Vice Chairman to Akoko Northwest local government ,Ajayi Bakare who spoke to our correspondent confirmed that the driver, Momodu was warned by the parents of the students who promised to add more to the fares for taking longer route.
Meanwhile their abductors according to Bakare have demanded N3 for each student and N4 for the driver respectively.
Police sources said efforts are on to fish out the gunmen and free the victims.
