 Gunmen allegedly seize four new born babies after attack in Anambra hospital

Confusion has a trailer the alleged seizure of four newborn babies by gunmen who attacked a popular Maternity hospital in Nkpologwu unity in Aguata local government area of Anambra’ State.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Tuesday night but was made known to members of the community on Wednesday morning.

A source from the area said, “It happened in our community, and people have been discussing it since Wednesday morning. They said some gunmen stormed the hospital (name withheld) and took away four babies from the hospital.

“From what people are saying in the community, no one was injured, and no one was killed in the attack too. The motive for the invasion of the hospital was not known to anyone.”

According to the source, “Some people say they could have taken the babies to sell them to childless individuals, but others say it could be for ritual purposes,”

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Anambra State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga when contacted said the command was not aware of the incident.

He said: “I don’t have such a report before me now.”

It is feared that the attackers may have targeted the newly born babies for either ritual or selling the babies.
