Covid-19, Kano Government Commends FG on Reopening of Schools.

The Kano state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has applauded the policies initiated by the federal government towards reopening of schools across the country.
ThisNigeria recalls that Schools in Nigeria were shut down by the federal government in compliance with Covid-19 protocols.
The state Governor represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, described the reopening policies as a veritable tool for national development.

Speaking when he received the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, in his office at the state Government House in Kano, the Governor averred that measures taken by the Buhari administration in pursuing the reopening of Schools deserves commendation.

In his words “I wish to acknowledge the commitment of the Federal Government in the education sector particularly at this time when schools are about to be reopened.”

He noted that Kano State Government attributes huge priority to the Education sector considering its importance to societal growth.

Gawuna added that in compliance with COVID-19 protocols teaching staff and the students have been equipped with PPE ahead of the reopening of Schools, noting that fumigation exercise have been carried out in schools .
He revealed that the state government has disbursed the sum of N880 million for the renovation of public schools.
Earlier, Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba disclosed that they were in Kano to partake in the North West Stakeholders meeting to review the guidelines and protocols for the reopening of Schools.
