Gunmen on Tuesday night kidnapped the Paramount ruler of Bungundu Emirate in Zamfara State, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru.

According to reports, Alhaji Attahiru was abducted along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

It was learnt that the gunmen opened fire on his convoy and in the process, rendered some of his vehicles disbanded.

One of his escorts was said to have been killed during the incident.
