Most people are said to be confused over the approach of the state Governor Prof. Charles Soludo on handling members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The governor had during his inauguration on March 17 this year promised to initiate dialogue with IPOB and other agitators with a view to bringing about lasting peace and development across the state, a move IPOB members welcomed with appreciation and support to the state government.
But, shortly, after the swearing-in ceremony, the APGA led directed all market leaders, transporters, and others to ensure they resume normal business.
The directive is said to have hurt members of the proscribed body, especially, the measures put in place by the state government without the much-expected dialogue.
Recall that gunmen had on Thursday set Nnewi South local government area on fire.
A security guard was killed during the attack on the council secretariat by the Gunmen.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo had ordered security agents in the state to fish out those behind the ugly incident.

Soludo added that the destruction of the key buildings within the local government including the education office and Works department, as well as, the local government traditional rulers building complex was a huge economic waste
He decried that the funds that would be deployed in reconstructing them would have been deployed to provide other critical infrastructure.
Ikenga stated that the Amichi and the other Police Stations were still undergoing reconstruction as they were among the stations attacked during the 2020 EndSARS protest, adding that there was no casualty and that a team of police personnel had been drafted to the area to ensure peace.
According to him, the hoodlum did not only attack Nnewiechi police but also attacked osumoghu and Ezenifite police stations.
