Hold community leaders accountable for kidnappings in Delta, Activist Harrison Gwamnishu declares

A Delta State-born activist and politician, Harrison Gwamnishu, has accused community leaders of aiding the recent spike in kidnap cases in the state.
According to Gwamnishu, who posted a video of some recently freed kidnapped victims in the state, the community leaders give out their lands to strangers without doing a proper background check on the occupants.
He narrated that the video was shot on Thursday to show two men who were abducted before Easter Sunday from Udo Quarters Ubulu-Uku, Delta State.
He wrote on Facebook, “If you are familiar with our terrain, you will understand the suffering our people are passing through. It will take approximately 17hours trekking or more without food and water to get to the destination where these kidnappers currently have their hideout.
“Some of these guys comes into our community disguise as herdsmen and iron condemn pickers and continue to commit these crimes unchallenged.
“Some of them reside in the bush and don’t pay rent, those that pay rent, landlords have no record of who or where they are coming from and when they commit these crimes, you have no trace of them.
“THIS VIDEO IS OUT HERE FOR THE WORLD TO SEE SOME OF THE CRIMES GOING ON IN OUR COMMUNITY.
“Some community leaders within Aniocha/Oshimili are also guilty of this happenings. They are the ones giving out their lands for strangers that have no history to dwell. IT’S TIME YOU HOLD YOUR COMMUNITY LEADERS ACCOUNTABLE.“
