Jigawa govt pays N9.4bn to 2,146 pensioners

Jigawa State and Local Governments Contributory Pension Scheme (JLGCPS) has announced the disbursement of over 9. 4 billion Naira to 2,146 retirees as pension and other benefits this year.

 This was disclosed in a statement by Habibu Nuhu Kila, Special Adviser

Media and Public Relations to governor Mohammad Baduru Abubakar.

Kila quoted the Executive Secretary of the State and Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa that, the entitlements comprised of retirement, terminal, and monthly pension benefits.

N5.23 billion nairas was paid as a monthly pension, while N4.16 billion naira was terminal benefits for the beneficiaries.

He said the beneficiaries include retirees of State, local government, and local education authorities.

According to the statement,  eight percent was paid for

the retirement, death, and pension contribution refunds and monthly pension entitlements were paid to 2,146 beneficiaries within the period under review.

According to him, the board is up to date in the payment of entitlements to retirees and those who died in active service.

He said the board and the jigsaw state government would continue to ensure better welfare for both retirees and those in active service.
