The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered a thorough investigation into the death of singer, Mohbad.
The Spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed this on X while sharing a picture of himself and the IGP.
He wrote, “IGP and CP Lagos deliberating on the death of Mohbad at the Police Airwing, Muritala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja Lagos on Saturday.
“The IGP immediately directed CP Lagos to deploy the command’s resources to carry out a thorough investigation on the matter. The IGP promised the CP of adequate support on the case.”

Mohbad passed away on Tuesday, September 12th and was buried on Wednesday, September 13th.
In an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, affirmed the commitment of the Police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
He stated, “The Force PRO issued a statement this evening saying that the investigation would commence. And that is what we are going to do.
“If need be, the body would be exhumed. It’s not too late. The body can be exhumed, and an autopsy can be performed.”
