Ikenne agog for NNL Super 4, as Aluo promises exciting tournament

 

All is now set for the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League Super 4 which kicks off today at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State

The four teams that will slug it out in the weeklong championship organised to determine the eventual winner of the second tier league are; Doma United, Ranchers Bees and two Lagos club sides; Inter Lagos and Sporting Lagos.

All the four teams have already gained promotion to the elite league and this tournament apart from crowning the champion of the league will see the winner going home with a whopping N10 million while the other participating teams will get N2 million, courtesy of the sponsor, Toptier Sports Management.

There will also be locker room allowance powered by betting company , Betpawa which will see matchday squad players and three technical staff get with N56,000 each for every match won, and this innovation which was introduced during the league is believed will help bring out the best in the players.

As the clock ticks for the opening match at 2pm between Sporting Lagos and Ranchers Bees before the second game at 4pm involving Doma Fc and Inter Lagos, preparations are on high gear by all the teams to start the round robbin game on a clean slate as any slip, could jeopardize their chance of emerging champion at the end of hostilities.

It’s interesting to note that all the teams that qualified for the Super 4, did it in a convincing way. While Doma gained promotion with two games to spare, the other three teams had to dip deep in their last matches to gain promotion and qualification to the Super 4 which makes the tournament very interesting.

Already, coaches of the four teams are sounding confidence, that they’ll carry the day to show that there qualification to the top flight was no fluke.

They are all convinced that in this type of high profile match, their teams will give nothing to chance to ensure they emerge overall winner of the league.

Speaking ahead of the toury, Chairman of NNL, George Aluo, assured that all arrangement has been put in place for a successful tournament which he believes will be a great improvement to the Super 8 held at Asaba, Delta State.

According to him, they’ve worked closely with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), their sponsors and NALCOMA to ensure there’s no dull moment throughout the duration of the weeklong championship which will give the best football action to fans and football stakeholders.

“I must have to commend the Nigeria Football Federation, our sponsors and NALCOMA for being on the same page with us as we go for the Super 4.

” Right now, we’re ready to go. All arrangement has been put in place . The teams are well prepared and I promise everyone an exciting tournament”, said Aluo.

As Nigerians await the commencement of the Super 4, football fans are looking forward to an entertaining football and the question on everybody’s lip is who will be crowned the champion of the tournament. Only time will tell.
