
The Unity Ikere Ekiti Old Students Association (UNIKOSA) is to launch a healthcare scheme for its members in an effort to improve their access to healthcare services.
Mr Akinjide Ogunwale, the newly-elected National President of the association, made the disclosure in his inaugural speech after election which was done virtually.
He mentioned the scheme as UNIKOSA Healthcare Initiative.
“I implore all members to key into the healthcare programme as soon as possible.
“A window of free registration shall be opened to the millennium sets after due consultation with the rest of the executives on the date of commencement,” he said.
Ogunwale thanked voters and pledged commitment to service.
He praised other contestants for cooperation.
The association president advised them to work harmoniously with him for the progress of the association.
He hailed past executives of the alumni association for selfless and exemplary leadership.
“I seek to build and solidify the values that bind us, which are respect, love and unity.
“Building UNIKOSA is never a man’s job or a day’s job. It is a collective responsibility,” he said.
Ogunwale called for innovative ideas that would make the association and the school better.
“The executive committee will listen to you, we will visit you, we will call you, we will be with you and, most importantly, we will succeed with you.

“I would like to start work with collation of ideas and suggestions from each set. These ideas will be aligned with my manifesto to form a work plan for this administration.
“An eminent persons group will be established immediately with terms of reference to ensure true reconciliation and settlement of disputes, among other things,” he said.
He listed other programmes of his administration to include setting up of mobilisation, media, funding and project committees.
The school was formerly Unity Secondary School, Ikere Ekiti.
Ekiti State Government later renamed it Ekiti Government College, Ikere. (NAN)
