Ile Ife records first rain in 2022

The ancient city of Ile-Ife, Osun, on Wednesday, recorded its first rain of the year, following a downpour in some areas of the town.
The rain started around 6:40 p.m. in some areas lasted between 20 and 30 minutes in Opa and Kosere areas.
Other areas where the rain fell were Ifedapo, Moremi, Iloro, Oke-Atan, Lagere, Mayfair, Campus, and some areas of Modakeke including Urban-day, Better life, Oke-D.O, Itaasin among others.
The rain did not, however, fall in Eleyele, Ibadan Road, Modomo, Igboya, Sabo, Ilare, Road-Seven, Oduduwa, and Iremo areas among others.
The rain which fell without storm was heavy in the affected areas and there was no report of any destruction of property.
Mrs. Sade Iyiola, who resides at the Iredumi area of Ile-Ife, described the rainfall as a welcome development and great relief.
“Am so happy to witness the first rainfall of the year, the weather has not been friendly for some time now.
