I’m a duly qualified lawyer, Kalu dismisses law school allegations

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has affirmed that he is a qualified lawyer and respected public servant, emphasising that his professional credentials have undergone rigorous scrutiny at various points in his career.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, on Friday, Kalu dismissed allegations made by the Civil Society Groups of Good Governance (CSGGG) concerning his attendance at the Nigerian Law School.

The lawmaker described the claims as “unproven” and arising from a petition that has neither been substantiated nor determined by any competent authority, emphasising that his professional credentials have been thoroughly examined.

He noted, “The Office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has taken note of a press conference organised by a coalition led by the Civil Society Groups of Good Governance (CSGGG), wherein certain allegations were raised concerning the Deputy Speaker’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) participation and his attendance at the Nigerian Law School.”
