
The Imo state government has clarified reports on the Nekede-Ihiagwa road that was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari recently saying that the road was awarded in phases and phase one has been completed and commissioned while construction work on the next phase (Phase Two) would commence after the rains and subsequently, the last phase.

The Imo state government in a statement on Tuesday said that the report was misleading and painting the Government of Imo State and President Muhammadu Buhari in bad light with respect to the Nekede / Ihiagwa / Obinze road.
The IMOSG while acknowledging the hardship and pains experienced by the residents and road users at phases two and three of the road, said that it was ‘improper and unpatriotic for anyone to falsely propagate that the Nekede / Ihiagwa / Obinze road has not received government’s attention.
