Mr Dan Nwanyanwu one of the opposition leaders in Imo state, has said that Imo has improved since Senator Hope Uzodimma become governor of the state this came as he called on Imolites not to keep quiet on the good works of the governor.
Nwanyanwu who is the national party Chairman of Zenith Labour Party ZLP lamented that those condemning Uzodimma and his government are ‘those who have eyes but have refused to see’ and that ‘they condemn everything being done in Imo but they have never come to Imo State for the past 5 years.
He went on to enjoin critics of Imo to come home and see for themselves what the governor has done and his doing just as he appreciated the governor for the recoveries he has made, saying that the recoveries were the thing that attracted him so much and had to speak publicly.
More so he said that if the recoveries were the only things Uzodimma did for Imo people, Imo people will be grateful to him because it has never been done before
He also called on the people of Imo to stop the bad publicity people throwing out there about the state asking them ‘Why are we not speaking out, why are we keeping quiet? We should be bold to speak and should not be afraid of doing same.’
Nwanyanwu speaking at Tuesdays stakeholders’ meeting in Owerri said “I want to say that our state has improved since the governor came into power. I am not in APC. I am not in PDP. I have been a member of the opposition since 1999 and I have never shifted but when you see something good, you need not to pretend as if it is not something good.” .
“I am known in the country because I speak the truth. I stand by it and I am never afraid to say so. Just like you said Mr. Chairman when you came into Owerri a lot of things have changed. The other day I was coming in from Orlu and I can see that the state is working.
He described those criticising the Imo state government as ‘internet dogs and attack tigers’ who have refused to say the truth
“What we have in Imo State is internet dogs and attack tigers. They have eyes but have refused to see. All they do is to stay where they are, condemn the state, condemn everything being done here but they have never come to Imo State for the past 5 years and all we need to do is to call them to come home and see things for themselves.”
On Uzodimma’s recovery policies he said: “Your Excellency I want to appreciate you for the recoveries you have made. That was the thing that has attracted me so much and I have spoken on it publicly. If that is the only thing that you do for Imo people, Imo people will be grateful to you because it has never been done before” he remarked.

Uzodimma’s infrastructural development Nwanyanwu said: “You have rolled out the constructions going on and those that have been completed, we are all from those areas. There are those we can confirm and those you will call people and they say yes I passed through there. These are not voodoo lists, they are what we can see and confirm by ourselves and those of us in opposition we speak because we want people to see things the way they are and we should not be afraid.
“I am from the opposition and if the governor should do something bad tomorrow I will be the first to fire. That is how we operate in the opposition. We must be the watchdog. We must put the governor on his toes so that he can be working. Funds that he should have been used on roads, education and health care and so on they are pushing it to be used on insecurity (because of the politically contrived insecurities) and we are all keeping quiet. That is not good.” he concluded.
