Following the back and forth which has trailed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC since its announcement of the presidential candidate of APC, Senator Bola Ahmed as the winner of the February 25th presidential election, Labour Party and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who are the litigants challenging the result, the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu today assured the Labour Party’s Legal Team that the Commission will provide all the documents it requested for to prosecute its case.
The Labour Party’s Legal Team which was at the INEC National Headquarters in Abuja to discuss modalities for obtaining the documents noted that it is glad to meet with the chairman and it will stand by his words over their requests.
Yakubu said: “INEC has nothing to hide. Documents available at the HQ will be given immediately. We are meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners today and we will discuss how other documents at the state level could also be made available to you speedily.
