President general Tiv Youths Organisation worldwide, Com. Timothy Hembaor has frayed those attacking Gov. Samuel Ortom over his recent comments on the president Mohammed Buhari-led administration on issues of insecurity in the country.

The TYO particularly fingered one Mr. Mike Msuaan of been used by enemies of the state for reasons it described as been very selfish and parochial.

In a strong-worded statement which was made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Thursday, the TYO which described the group Mr. Msuaan claimed to be leading (Tiv Youth Council) as an illegal body said it has no mandate to advocate for or on behalf of Tiv Youths.

“The Tiv Youths Organization read a statement issued by a hiring supposedly of Tiv extraction by one Mr. Mike Msuaan who claimed to be speaking for Tiv Youths and has been making caustic remarks against leaders and elders of Benue state under a fake group called Tiv Youths Council world wide”.

The group said Mr. Msuaan latest outing was against Gov. Samuel Ortom whom it alleged he accused of unjustly (?) attacking president Mohammed Buhari, adding that the attack had only exposed him as a mercenary working against the Benue people to fatten his pocket and bring him to good stead with the enemies of the state.

“As the legitimately recognized umbrella body of all Tiv Youths worldwide, we hasten to distance the Tiv nation from the despicable utterances of Msuaan and his sponsors”.

TYO further said, “Nigerians should note that there is no known group in Tiv land and indeed the entire Benue state bearing the name Tiv Youths Council, therefore, any statement credited to a group with such a name is purely the handwork of mischief makers and enemies of the state who are fighting dirty and have recruited useful idiots among people to helped them wedge a media war against Gov Samuel Ortom and anyone else who stands in their way”.

The TYO said further that ordinarily, it would have ignored the clownish utterances of the young man but as an organization of huge credibility, it behooves on it to provides leadership and also respond to such perfidious activities.

“This attempt to establish legitimacy on the none existence group is not only shocking but also portrays us in a bad light as a people. It is appalling and preposterous that Gov. Samuel Ortom is called a busy body for standing resolutely in his defense of the Tiv nation. It would look like Mike Msuaan in the orgasmic delusion of earning his pay has forgotten the principal role of governance which is the protection of lives and properties and this, Gov. Samuel Ortom has carried on with honor”.

Concentrate on governance, leave Buhari alone, Tiv youths tells Ortom

TYO noted that Gov. Samuel Ortom has found a solution to the killer herdsmen question by enacting the anti-open grazing and ranches establishment law, now been lauded and replicated across the country challenging anyone with a better alternative to come forward.

“The present furor also has to do with the robust defense Gov. Samuel Ortom extended to Bishop Hassan Kukah when he raised the Nigerian issue with the Congress of the United state in America. The moral strength of Bishop Kukah can not be sullied by yokels like Msuaan.

Gov. Ortom is within his rights as a governor of a federating unit of Nigerian, and his state is at the receiving end of Bihari’s bad governance. If Ortom can not show kinship spirit with Bishop Kukah, who else would, the TYO asked”.
