Singer Lawal Olumo, popularly known as Konga has revealed the reason he refused to pursue legal action against Grammy-winning singer, Burna Boy for alleged intellectual theft.
The rapper recently accused Burna Boy of using his lines in one of his songs but said he is not pressing charges despite his lawyer’s eagerness.
He stated, “My management and lawyer were angry and wanted to take up the case because he (Burna Boy) contacted foreign artists whose intellectual work he featured but didn’t contact me. However, I told them not to. I appreciated it because I’m the kind of artist that always looks forward to the best way we can support each other and be productive.
“He used some of my lines and melody in ‘Kabakaba.’ We had not had a conversation about the feature before the time I made the video request online, and he has not responded yet. I pray and I hope Burna Boy responds to my requests. I also hope Tiwa Savage turns up because I am doing remixes for some of my other classic songs.”
