Elegbe, fondly called ‘Mr. Cashless’ in cooperate world, had set the pace for the much-talked-about cashless policy which the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has started implementing.

Elegbe, a graduate of Electrical Engineering from the University of Benin, is an alumnus of the Global CEO Programme organised by IESE Business School, The Wharton School, and China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) for senior executives of organisations.

The company has progressively evolved to incorporate consumer financial services with the successive launches of quick-teller, a retail payments ecosystem linking merchants and billers with consumers, as well as verve, a home-grown, EMV-certified payments card scheme.

The over $26bn firm Interswitch has made revenue collection, tax payment, bill payments for distribution companies, cable television subscriptions, interbank transfers, and other seamless cashless transactions.
