Dr Wale Babalakin and Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe have been directed by the president, Muhammadu Buhari, to step down from power in the face of the ensuing power tussle.
In response to this command, Prof Omololu Soyombo, who was deputising as acting Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, has stepped down so as to make way for the school’s Senate committee to nominate an acting VC for the school. This directive was made along with the establishment of a Special Visitation Panel to the school.
Prof Soyombo remarked that he is stepping down with immediate effect.
