The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with over 1.9 million candidates participating in the nationwide test.
However, the results have sparked widespread concern due to the low performance of students across the board. According to the data released by JAMB, only 420,415 candidates scored above 200 out of a total of 400 marks. This means that over 1.5 million candidates, roughly 77% of those who took the exam, fell below the average benchmark.
With the results now out, Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to check your UTME result using the two methods provided by JAMB
How to Check Your 2025 UTME Result
Method 1: Via SMS
Open your phone’s messaging app.
Type UTMERESULT (in capital letters).
Send the message to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used during your registration.
Wait for a response from JAMB. Your result will be sent as an SMS shortly after.
Make Sure you have at least ₦50 airtime on your phone before sending the message to access your result.
Method 2: Via JAMB Online Portal
Visit the JAMB official portal at www.jamb.gov.ng.
Click on “Check UTME Results” from the menu.
Enter your JAMB registration number and other required details.
Click on “Check Result” to view your score.
Candidates are advised to print out their results and keep them safe for admission processes into tertiary institutions.
