Jigawa govt to stop borrowing, sets boost IGR, says Badaru

Jigawa State Government has reiterated its commitment towards de-emphasizing borrowing while plunging leakages and boasting internally generated revenue (IGR) for the state.

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar disclosed while inspecting one of the proudly private sector investments established in Gumel’s local area of the state.

The Governor said the benefits of private investment cannot be overemphasized as it provides employment and economic activity to the people, especially the host community.

Governor Badaru says Jigawa State Government through its investment and promotion agency will continue to facilitate and support private sector investment in the state.

He disclosed that over 500 hectares of land were provided to WACOT limited to develop a sesame academy that will enhance the technical capacity of sesame farmers not only in Jigawa but in the whole of the sesame producing region of West Africa.

He, therefore, commended WACOT limited for their dogged commitment by creating an organic sesame farm, farmer’s academy, dripping irrigation, sesame cleaning plant, and warehouse.

He said the Managing Director of WACOT Limited, Mr. Bibhu Nandu expressed his appreciation to the Governor for all the necessary support accorded to them and promised to compliment Government Programmes towards food production and economic empowerment to the people.
