Three students of the Plateau State Polytechnic were on Wednesday night abducted by gun-wielding men suspected to be bandits.
It was gathered by our correspondent that the gunmen scaled through the fence into the school at about 8 p.m, fired gunshots in the air, and took the students away.
A student of the institution who simply gave his name as Shepard said, the gunmen stormed the hostel, ‘Plateau Embassy’ towards the end of the school fence and whisked three girls away after shooting sporadically in the air.
Meanwhile the Plateau State Police Command in a statement signed by ASP Ubah Gabriel, who is the spokesman of the state Command said the Police are aware of the kidnap incident in Ban Village behind Plateau State Polytechnic Heipang on Wednesday at about 20:05hrs where three persons were abducted.

He said that immediately after the report was received, a team of Policemen of the Command and OPSH raced to the scene where one suspect was arrested.
Meantime, efforts are ongoing to rescue the kidnapped victims and arrest other perpetrators of the act, he added.
