JUST IN: Minister for Education, Nwajuiba resigns over presidential ambition

Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajuiba has resigned from his position to pursue his presidential ambition.

President Muhammadu Buhari made this known during the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.

According to Buhari, the Minister had tendered his resignation to avoid a conflict of interest.

He then directed all aspiring cabinet members and political appointees to resign from their positions to pursue their ambitions.

The cabinet members affected include Ministers of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio; Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu, Justice minister and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami; Minister of State Mines and Steel, Uche Ogar, the Minister of Women Affairs, Paulline Tallen,

The aforementioned ministers, excluding Ogar and Tallen, are vying for the 2023 presidency.

Ogar is running for governorship position in Cross Rivers State while Tallen is to contest for the senatorial seat in Plateau State
