JUST IN: PGF boss tenders resignation over national convention controversy

Due to the division among governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) over whether the national convention should hold or not, the Director-General of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) Salihu Lukman, has resigned from the office.

ThisNigeria can confirm with authority that after Sunday’s meeting, the APC governors deliberated on whether the DG should be forced to resign or not.

It was learnt that the governors were sharply divided over the matter.

A source who pleaded anonymity confided in ThisNigeria that while a majority of the governors opposed the pressure to force Lukman’s resignation, the rest put their weight behind the decision.

Calls put across to speak with the PGF boss were unanswered as of the time of filing this report.
