Atiku has no anointed Kogi guber candidate

Former vice president, Alh. Atiku Abubakar has made it clear that he has no anointed candidate for the forthcoming Kogi State governorship election.

There are insinuations that Atiku Abubakar is behind the emergence of Sen. Dino Melaye as aspirant for his states governorship contest.

In a reaction by Atiku’s spokesperson, Paul I’ve and made available to ThisNigeria in Abuja on Tuesday.

“We wish to state categorically that such media reports are false and gross fabrication.

“Atiku is a consummate democrat and the hallmark of his political struggles has been for the enablement of internal democracy in party politics.

“It is therefore absurd to suggest that Atiku has a preferred candidate in the primary election to produce the governorship candidate of the PDP in the Kogi State election – or in any primary election, for that matter.

“For the avoidance of any doubts, Atiku Abubakar has no anointed candidate in the Kogi State primary election,” he assured.

He said it would be the responsibility of party members in the state to pick a flag bearer through a transparent primary election.

Wadata Plaza recently cleared about 10 aspirants to contest the November off season Kogi governorship elections.
