General Overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, yesterday came hard on President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, describing it as the most corrupt regime since independence.
Oyedepo, who spoke during a church programme tagged: Special Prayer for The Nation, also decried the level of hardship imposed on Nigerians through corruption.
He said a Federal Government that is purportedly fighting corruption is entangled with corrupt officials.
Citing the example of the suspended Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, who is currently under investigation for an N80bn and another N70bn fraud, he said such a fund would be enough to meet the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) which led to the shutting down of schools since April 14.
Oyedepo said, “Many children are out of school, there is nothing to pay to get them back to school. We saw some folks at Covenant University that we had to help out to graduate. First-class students can’t get N30, 000 to pay under this wicked government, selfish, self-centred.
“What a fight against corruption? You were all deceived, you can’t be in corruption and be fighting corruption. This is the most corrupt regime in the history of Nigeria.
“You heard of Auditor-General who stole N80bn, all they need to get the university up and running in less than the N80bn but they are not interested because their children are not there.”

Meanwhile, Oyedepo has condemned the attack on a church in Owo, Ondo State by gunmen, saying his church cannot be attacked.
Oyedepo had earlier last week joined the public in condemning the incident.
However, at the church’s headquarters on Sunday, he dared terrorists to come to his church and see what becomes of them.
“Since these wicked devils showed up in Nigeria, not once have they succeeded in do havoc in our church. Not once!” He said.
“There is no madness that does not recognise fire. This is not by mouth, this is Jesus amid His people. Can you imagine a dog going to rob a lion’s house?
“They say where are you going? He said I am a mad dog, I am going to deal with that lion today. Have you seen that before? They saw a banner and they said this is fire. Till Jesus returns, no demonic Fulani, no Islamite will enter our church.
“If they don’t die at entry, I am not sent by God. Under this covering, as ordained by God, come to church and relax, let me see that devil who will dare your coming in or going out. Look up, the lion is here. He will tear you to pieces.”
