The Nigeria Police Force, Kano Command on Monday dragged one Dahiru Adamu , “Easy” a resident of Kurna Quarters before a Kano magistrate court for allegedly operating as a lawyer.
According to the charge sheet filed against the defendant, Dahiru is accused of wearing wig and legal gown, adding that he engages in illegal practices within court premises in the state.
The prosecution told the court that the defendant is an impostor who specializes in procuring bail for accused persons before the courts.
The defendant was once slammed with two years jail sentence for committing similar offence, the court heard.
The defendant denied the allegations levied against him before the court.
The presiding Magistrate Binta Muhammad Ahmad ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody.
The matter is adjourned to 20th October 2020 for further arraignment.
