Kano gov flags off N11bn rural roads in 10 communities

Kano state Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has flagged off a total of 70 kilometre roads across ten communities in the three senatorial districts in the state.
The flag-off ceremony took place at Rijiyar Gwangwan and Mil Goma in Dawakin Kudu Local Government area of Kano State.
A statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, made available to journalists in Kano, explained that the two locations out of the ten are set to enjoy the various road networks have been allocated with 14.7km out of the total of 70km.
The road projects, the statement added, are going to be executed in partnership with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and Lives & Livelihood Fund (LLF), through the Kano State Agro-pastoral Development Project (KSADP), under the Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA).
While flagging off the project, the governor was said to have said that his administration is determined to bring life-changing infrastructural development projects for rural communities in Kano State, spearheaded by the executive.
According to the governor’s spokesman, a total of over N11 billion has been earmarked for the 70-kilometre rural access roads and road networks in the semi-urban areas.
“In Dawakin Kudu where today’s flag-off took place, 7.2km rural access road for Mil Goma to Yankatsari and 7.5km Rijiyar Gwangwan road networks respectively are expected to cost two billion, six hundred million naira (N2.6b) only,” he explained.
