Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Yusuf marked his 62nd birthday uniquely and reflectively by visiting his late father’s grave, Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf, at Dandolo graveyard in Kano.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawaki Tofa, yesterday.
The Governor’s visit was heartfelt as he paid tribute to the man who shaped his values and inspired his journey into public service.
The late Kabiru Yusuf was a prominent Kaduna regional parliament member and a seasoned administrator known for his integrity and dedication to his people.
Governor Yusuf reflected on his father’s legacy, “My father’s life was a testament to leadership rooted in service, humility, and unwavering commitment to justice. His memory continues to guide me in all I do.”
The Governor also took a moment to honour his mother, Malama Khadijatul-Naja’atu, a school teacher and a revered female Islamic scholar.
“My mother taught me the importance of education, faith, and compassion, values that have remained with me throughout my life,” he shared.
Accompanied by family members, aides, and a few close associates, Governor Yusuf recited prayers at the gravesite, asking Allah (SWT) to grant his parents Jannatul Firdaus.
Speaking about the significance of the visit, the Governor remarked, “Celebrating my birthday at my father’s grave is a reminder of where I come from and the values that define me. It is also a moment to renew my commitment to serving the people of Kano with the same dedication my father had for his community.”
