KANSIEC Flags Off Vetting of Candidates For Kano LG Polls.

Kano state Independent Electoral Commission, KANSIEC on Tuesday has flagged off the vetting of candidates for the January 16th local government chairmanship election in the state
KANSIEC disclosed that the candidates from 18 registered political parties and their deputies were been scrutinized in compliance with the provisions of the state LG electoral laws.
The commission stated that the exercised is planned to last for a duration of four days , adding that all candidates vying to occupy the offices in the 44 local governments in the state would be subjected to the exercise.
The superintendent of the KANSIEC LG election screening exercise Dr Dahiru Abbas Kachako, who doubles as KANSEC commissioner of planning research and statistics said the vetting exercise is to ensure candidates and political parties strictly comply with the laid down electoral rules.
Dr Kachako, “so far, so good, we are screening credentials and ensure that candidates have the requirements tax clearance included.
“the conduct of the screening is going smoothly and parties are presenting presentable candidates with needed documents on ground.”Katchako said.
