Nigeria will eventually win battle against banditry, terrorism – Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, a former governor of Lagos State Asiwaju Bola Tinubu yesterday said that Nigeria will eventually win the battle against banditry and terrorism.

The former governor made this known during a visit to the governor of Niger state Governor Abubakar Sani Bello over the recent killings in the state and consultation with Nigerians over his 2023 presidential ambition.

Speaking, after donating N50 million to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state, Tinubu decried banditry and other forms of criminality, just as he said that Nigeria ‘is our place, our country and our sovereignty. It is our chosen democracy and we will defend it. We will win the war against banditry.’

Tinubu said: “This is unacceptable, no government will be happy when such a thing is happening in his country but we will take the battle to them. We will win the battle against banditry.

“We will employ technology to fight and eliminate all the bandits. It is our place, our country and our sovereignty. It is our chosen democracy and we will defend it. We will win the war against banditry.”

Also speaking in appreciation of the visit and donation the Niger state governor called on Tinubu to replicate his achievements between 1999 and 2007 when he was the governor of Lagos if he gets the APC ticket and becomes the president in Abuja next year.

Bello said: “God, in His wisdom, gave Asiwaju the wisdom to lay the foundation of Lagos state that you see today. Lagos is a country within a country and we saw the foundation you laid there, we are looking forward to seeing you replicate it for Nigeria tomorrow.”

The former Lagos governor was accompanied by Senator Abu Fari (Katsina), House Representatives members Ibrahim Abdullahi (Niger) and James Falake (Ikeja Federal Constituency, Lagos).
