Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has debunked claims that he has endorsed the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Recall that Obasanjo had been in a close-door meeting with Tinubu on Wednesday at his residence in Abeokuta.
After the meeting, supporters of the Presidential candidate had claimed that the former president had endorsed him as his preferred candidate.
Reacting to this, Obasanjo in a statement by his special assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi ,on Saturday debunked the claims, stating that it wasn’t helpful to Tinubu.

The former president said the visit by Tinubu was more brotherly than political at the request of the APC candidate.
He said” Those claiming to be insiders at the meeting issuing statements on the discussion, and those crediting to me a statement I had not made are enemies of the visitor and are not doing the visit any good.”
