Operatives of the Anambra State command have shot dead two armed robbery suspects terrorizing motorists and residents in Obosi and adjoining areas along Onitsha-Owerri express road in the state.
The dead armed robbery suspects were among members of a three-man gang intercepted on the 5th of December 2021 at about 0530 hours by Operatives of the command as they were carrying out operations around Idemili flyover off Obosi town close to Onitsha-Owerri Road.
They were said to have attempted to rob passengers traveling in a Toyota Sienna van along the busy road.
They had on sighting policemen on patrol opened fire on them at which the police responded swiftly and killed two in the process.
The two victims were identified as Chinedu Okeri ‘M’ from Enugu state and Chukwuebuka Orizu from Anambra State while the third suspect, Abuchi Osim ‘M’ from Enugu State was also arrested.
Items recovered by police from the suspects include two locally-made Pistols, five cartridges, and a tricycle that brought the gangsters to the scene of the crime.
The confessional statements of the suspects led to their hideout in Atani in Ogbaru Local Government Area where Chinedu Ogunna ‘M’ 21yrs, Arinze Chukwu ‘M’ 16yrs and Ebuka Ayazie ‘M’ 18yrs were further arrested.
The suspects claimed to belong to some cult groups and armed robbery gangs.,

However, the Commissioner of Police in the state Mr. Echeng Echeng said the Command has since rejigged its policing strategies which have given a boost to potent and dynamic responses to any emergency and security challenges.
He assured that the command would not relent in safeguarding the lives and properties of people in the state especially during this yuletide season and beyond.
He urged law-abiding citizens of the State to remain vigilant and continue to support Security agencies with credible information in the fight against acts of crime and criminality in the State.
