Umahi’s infrastructure record key to Tinubu’s re-election, says NDI-ABAT

The NdIgbo for Tinubu 2027 Forum (NDI-ABAT) has declared that the infrastructural achievements of the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, will play a decisive role in securing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The group is projecting that the South-East alone could deliver at least 11 million votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement issued on Monday, NDI-ABAT said Umahi’s extensive road construction projects and strategic leadership had transformed public confidence in the APC, particularly among the Igbo population, positioning the ruling party for what it described as a landslide electoral victory.

National Coordinator of the group, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said Umahi’s performance in office had become one of the strongest political assets for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

“Senator Dave Umahi has already made a profound and lasting impact on the lives of ordinary Nigerians, especially Ndigbo, through the timely execution of numerous infrastructure projects,” the statement said.

According to the forum, “These achievements will translate into a minimum of 11 million Igbo votes for APC in 2027,” adding that broader national support generated by Umahi’s works could potentially deliver as many as 34 million votes for the party across the six geopolitical zones.

NDI-ABAT stressed that the Minister’s construction of federal roads, especially in the South-East, had boosted commerce, improved mobility, and strengthened trust in the Tinubu administration.

“This is not mere political rhetoric but a clear reflection of the visible gains from Umahi’s leadership at the Ministry of Works,” the group stated.

The forum described Umahi as the emerging political leader of the South-East, asserting that his governance record had elevated him into a central figure in Igbo political calculations.

“Umahi has earned his place as the new political leader of Ndigbo through visionary governance, strategic accomplishments, and unwavering commitment to national development,” Isiguzoro said.

Drawing comparisons with the Labour Party’s Peter Obi, NDI-ABAT argued that Umahi’s achievements as former governor of Ebonyi State and ex-chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum far exceeded Obi’s legacy as former governor of Anambra State.

“Unlike Peter Obi, whose tenure reflected missed opportunities, Umahi has consistently demonstrated practical governance through infrastructure, economic expansion, and regional development,” the statement added.

The group maintained that Umahi’s record would significantly weaken opposition forces in the South-East while consolidating support for Tinubu.

NDI-ABAT also called for the accelerated completion of ongoing federal infrastructure projects in the South-East, noting that sustained delivery would further guarantee overwhelming electoral support for APC beyond 2027.

“The South-East will vote for President Tinubu with the expectation that ongoing and future projects will continue to empower the region economically and socially,” the forum stated.

Reaffirming its support for Umahi, the group described him as “the New Zik of Africa,” insisting that his leadership, influence, and infrastructural accomplishments would remain central to Tinubu’s re-election strategy.

“As 2027 approaches, Senator Umahi’s sterling performance stands as a nightmare to the opposition and a strategic advantage for President Tinubu’s political future,” NDI-ABAT declared.
