Lagos gridlock: Kate Henshaw knocks FG

Nigerian actress Kate Henshaw has faulted the Federal Government over the closure of the Independence Bridge, Victoria Island, Lagos, which led to traffic congestion on Wednesday.
Some Lagosians, particularly those on the Island, were trapped on the road on Wednesday.
It was gathered that some people who left their homes in the morning with the hope of getting to work before 9:00 AM got to the Island around 4:00 PM.
Following the development, some netizens bashed the government for its insensitive decision.
Reacting, the Minister of Works ordered the reopening of the bridge to ease the heavy traffic.
However, Henshaw took to her X account to criticise the lack of proper planning, stressing that the work should have been scheduled for nighttime to minimise disruptions.
She wrote, “In truly civilised nations, such work is done under the gentle cover of night when the city sleeps when disruption is minimal. It’s a matter of respect, empathy & COMMON SENSE”-…. Now you want to open an already excavated bridge for damage control! Mscheeew.” (sic)
