Lagos Inner wheel gets new District Chairman

The District 912 of the Inner Wheel Nigeria of Lagos on Sunday installed Mrs. Adefunke Shinaba as its 15th District Chairman to pilot the affairs of the organization for the next year.

Speaking at the event, the outgone District Chairman, Mrs. Ronke Solomon, said that the organization had a robust leadership succession plan that was admired by others.

Solomon said that the confidence reposed in Shinaba by members was such that would take the district to greater height in all ramifications.

“Our organization a nonprofit making Non-Governmental Organisation thrives on goodwill to carry out its projects.

“The choice of Funke at this material time is apt going by her plethora of public goodwill that we bank on to speed up humanitarian works in order to steadily impact lives,” she said.

In her address, Mrs. Ayo Ebunola, Guest Speaker at the event, said that strong women would translate to a stronger society.

She charged the women folks to always tailor their energy toward things that would be of benefit to the common good, saying women and children tended to be at the receiving end of any social infraction.

Ebunola, who commended the district for its effort at improving the lives of the less privileged in the society, tasked them with good home management to make them role models in the society for others to emulate.

Shinaba, in her speech, thanked the district for finding her worthy to serve and promised to deliver on the timeline with the support of other executive members.

The media report that Inner Wheel is an international voluntary women body founded on Jan. 10, 1924.
