Lagos not among world’s top 20 cities with worst traffic – Omotoso

The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, has said that Lagos State is not among the world’s top 20 cities with the worst traffic.

Omotoso speaking at the maiden edition of an engagement forum between Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1FM and Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), at the Radio Lagos Auditorium, Agidingbi, Lagos gave reasons the state governor is embarking on the construction of many roads at the same time just as he begged Lagosians saying that ‘today’s pain is just for a short time, as we shall all enjoy the benefit of these massive investments in future’

He said: “Contrary to the strange figures pushed out by these pseudo-experts, Lagos is not even among the top 20 cities with the worst traffic in the world”,

Omotoso said: “It is to the credit of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration that we are embarking on the construction of many roads at the same time.

”The reason for this is not far-fetched, being a state that is largely below sea level, we must do as many roads as possible within the window of the dry season, between October and February, knowing that not much can be achieved once the rains begin.

”We are comforted by the fact that today’s pain is just for a short time, as we shall all enjoy the benefit of these massive investments in future.”
