Voting started in most Polling Units in the Egbeda axis of Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State as early as 8am.

ThisNigeria checks, however, revealed that there had been low turn out of voters in most of the PUs visited, no real reason was attributed to it.

At PU 081, along Remi Akande Street, Egbeda, INEC officials arrived at about 8.05am and immediately commenced the exercise.

As of 9.45am, only about 39 eligible voters had turned in to exercise their civic duties.

Low turn out of voters characterize elections in Nasarawa

At PU 099, along Ganiat Alayakun Street, still within the same Egbeda axis, no fewer than 46 eligible voters had voted.

The exercise was observed to be peacefully ongoing at PUs 101, 111 and 112 within the same area.

A voter, Mr Taiwo Ajayi, attributed the apathy to the glitches experienced during the February 25 election, saying people are possibly disenchanted.

He, however, commended INEC for the peaceful and orderly conduct in the ongoing exercise.
