Jigawa Awards Roads, Electrification Projects Worth N9b

The Jigawa state Government has approved the release of over N9b for award of roads,and lightning of some major towns.

The Commissioner of Works, Housing, and Transport of Jigawa state, Engineer Aminu Usman Gumel has revealed that also awarded was the contract for the construction of Ringim council’s township road worth 959 million naira to Triactor Nigerian Limited.

Engineer Aminu Usman Rola who was addressing the press at his office, said both the roads and electrification projects were placed adverts for most of the road.

He stated all the projects were awarded after successful bidding by some qualified contracting firms where by some regional road projects were awarded. Least amongst are Basirka- Badirka, awarded to Alren at the cost of N861,882,580.65, leading to many parts of North Eastern part of Jigawa state.

Similarly, the commissioner said the state government has awarded contract for the electrification of Gagarawa to Gumel, to Garki up to Suletankarkar local government.

He added that the state government has awarded the contract of streetlights of 150 units in Hadejia and 230 units in Babura at the cost of 90 million naira and 130 million naira respectively.

Also approved by the Jigawa state Executive Council was the actualization of proper taking-off of Gagarawa power transmission sub- station leading Gumel- Gagarawa- Garki, Malam-Madori and Maigatari will benefit from one feeder outlet line.
