The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on Friday declared that the ruling party has grown stronger and more united under his leadership.
In a statement marking his first anniversary in office, the national chairman cited electoral victories and internal reforms as evidence of its continued dominance.
Yilwatda thanked President Bola Tinubu, party leaders and members across the country for their support, describing the past year as one of purposeful leadership, unity and institutional growth.
He said the APC had focused on strengthening party structures, promoting inclusion and expanding consultations among stakeholders, adding that the efforts had reinforced the party’s position as Nigeria’s leading political platform.
“Over the past twelve months, we have worked deliberately to consolidate unity, reinforce the institutional foundations of our party, expand consultation, and foster a culture of inclusion and collective responsibility,” he said.
Yilwatda added, “Together, we have demonstrated that when the APC stands united, it remains the strongest and most formidable political platform in Nigeria.”
He also credited the party’s electoral victories over the past year to the commitment of its members, saying the outcomes reflected Nigerians’ continued confidence in the APC.
“Our impressive electoral victories within this period are clear evidence of the confidence Nigerians continue to repose in our party. These successes belong to every committed party member and reaffirm that the APC remains the preferred vehicle for progressive governance and national development,” he said.
The APC chairman expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his confidence and support, while also thanking members of the National Working Committee, governors, elected officials, party leaders, stakeholders and supporters for contributing to the party’s achievements.
Looking ahead, Yilwatda pledged to strengthen internal democracy, modernise the party’s administration and deepen engagement with members across the country.
He said the APC would continue to support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda while positioning itself for greater electoral success.
“As we begin another year of service, I reaffirm my pledge to lead with humility, fairness, transparency, and unwavering dedication.
“We will continue to build a stronger, more united APC and contribute meaningfully to the peace, stability and prosperity of our country,” the national chairman said.
Yilwatda assumed office as APC National Chairman on July 24, 2025.
