Prof. Mojeed Liasu, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), has lauded Gov. Seyi Makinde for regular advancement and progress recorded in the institution.

Liasu gave the commendation on Monday at the 13th induction ceremony of the 98 Medical Laboratory Scientists of the university.

The induction was conducted by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).

Liasu attributed the once incessant strike in the institution to paucity of funds to pay workers and procure needed equipment for the training of students.

“The success and many others recently recorded in the university are giant strides that could not have been achieved without the support of the governor.

“The governor had continued to give the necessary fund needed for training of medical students and others,” the vice-chancellor said.

He said that the management was willing to expand its College of Health Sciences by increasing the number of academic and professional programs.

Liasu listed the program to include B.Sc Public Health, B.Sc Pharmacology, B.Sc Health Information Management, B.Sc Physiotherapy, B.Sc Environmental Health, and B.Sc Molecular Genetics.

Earlier, Dr. Tosan Erhabor, the Registrar, MLSCN, commended the management of the institution for all the supports given to the Department of Medical Laboratory Science.

Erhabor, represented by Dr. Aikopitanyi Induitia, MLSCN’s Director of Education and Training, said that the council was planning to increase the quota of technicians in some institutions, including LAUTECH.

Induitia commended the university for producing well-trained, highly skilled, and competent Medical Laboratory Scientists who had been of immense benefit to the nation’s health sector.
