More than fifty indigent women and youths of the Ogbaru constituency have benefited from the Skill acquisition training program initiated by the lawmaker representing the constituency in the Anambra State of Assembly, Hon. Prince Chukwuka Onyema.
The beneficiaries were trained in various types of baking, cosmetics, solar insulation, repair and maintenance, soap making, body spray among others.
Consultant for the training program held at Anibueze town hall in Ogbaru local government area of the state, Mr . Onu Evans advised the participants to maximize the program to acquire skills that would better their lives.
He said, “I urge you to take advantage of the program to acquire skills that will better your lives and always put food on your table without waiting for white-collar jobs. Even if it comes, the skill learned today will be a support.
“You may also need to find where to fix yourselves to perfect what you have learned If you make yourself available, you will not need to look at other people.”
The beneficiaries who were provided with handouts, exercise books, and bags expressed gratitude to the benefactor for his magnanimity.
One of them, Chidubem Nwankwo who was full of joy for participating in the training, said he learned how to install and service solar lights and other electrical ppliances.
The program was sponsored by The National Centre for Energy, Research and Development, University of Nigeria Nsukka, and engineered by the lawmaker.
