Hon. Wale Raji, Member, Federal House of Representative, representing Epe federal constituency, has urged his fellow legislators to reason beyond lawmaking and influence community projects.
He said that the role of the legislator has gone beyond making laws, saying such an officeholder should be able to use his or her good offices to impact the constituency.
Raji said that the demand of the people are numerous but the resources to satisfy them are limited.
“Therefore, one will use what he has to get what he wants. Legislators should use their public bureau to influence, facilitate and attract projects that will benefit their constituencies,” he said.
The lawmaker said that with the socio-economic challenges confronting the country, legislators are advised to fix their various constituencies.
“People are expecting so much from their representatives, therefore, impactful projects, programmes, empowerment, cash grants, and other schemes should be allotted at the grassroots.
Raji mentioned some of his numerous achievements at the grassroots and its constituency, as; facilitating the repair of the Itoikin-Epe expressroad, Ketu-Epe highway.

Others as; cash grants to elderly people across the wards in the constituency, building of multiple classrooms In different public schools in the constituency, youths empowerment programmes, employment for indigenes among several others.
“I have served before and am still serving and also ready to continue serving because the experience is there and I am ready to utilize it to better my constituency and my people.
“I am the man of the people, for the people and by the people.
“My aspirations goes beyond 2023 because of my passion for community development.
“The journey of progressive Epe Division has begun and I must be part of the success story. This has motivated me to do so much for my constituency, ” he said. (NAN)
