Libya’s eastern-based army releases detainees, UN mission welcomes the move

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has welcomed the release of detainees by the eastern-based army.
UNSMIL welcomes the release of another eight detainees by the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, in the context of the Ceasefire Agreement reached on Oct. 23, 2020, UNSMIL tweeted.
“The release of these detainees took place today at Gate 50 on the Coastal Road, Sirte, under the supervision of the (5+5) JMC (Joint Military Commission),” it added.

The mission also called for the release of all detainees to support national reconciliation, peace and stability in Libya.
